Corrections Policy
We correct errors promptly and in the open.
How to report an error
Use the Contact form: say what is wrong, what it should be, and link the correct source. Include the page URL. Reports about the data should point to the state's official WARN source where possible.
What we do
- Every report is checked against the primary source. Confirmed errors are fixed promptly.
- Article corrections are noted on the article itself, with the date of the change.
- Data errors are fixed in the dataset and recorded in the site's update log.
Types of change
- Correction: a factual error is fixed.
- Update: new information arrives after publication — for example, a company confirms a report that was previously single-sourced.
- Clarification: wording that could mislead is rewritten without changing the facts.
- Retraction: reserved for an article that should not have been published. The original text stays visible with a retraction note.
No silent edits
We do not change published facts without a note. Typo and formatting fixes that do not change meaning are the only exception.
