Privacy Policy
Last updated: November 5, 2026.
US Layoff Radar ("we") tracks mass layoffs in the United States using official WARN notices published by state labor and workforce agencies. This policy explains what information this website collects and what we do with it.
The layoff data itself
Every row in the database is one official WARN notice: the employer, the location, the notice and effective dates, the number of workers affected, and the notice type, as reported by the state. These are public records. They contain no personal information about individual people, and we do not add any.
Information you give us
- Email subscriptions. If you subscribe to company alerts or the monthly newsletter, we store your email address and what you subscribed to (a company, or the newsletter). Subscriptions are double opt-in: you get a confirmation email first, and nothing is sent until you confirm. Every alert and newsletter email contains a one-click unsubscribe link.
- Contact and correction messages. If you use the Contact page, we store the name, email address (optional — only if you want a reply), subject, and message you send. Correction reports include the filing details you provide. These messages are reviewed by a human and emailed to us for handling.
- "I am impacted" clicks. Clicking the button records only a count: we store a hash of the filing and a hash of your IP address, never the IP address itself. One click is counted per filing.
Information collected automatically
- Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 (loaded through Google Tag Manager) and Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand how the site is used — which pages are visited, in aggregate, and roughly from where. Google Analytics uses cookies; Cloudflare Web Analytics does not. Google Analytics does not store your IP address.
- Security and abuse prevention. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, may log standard request data (such as IP address and browser type) to operate and protect the site. For form submissions and "I am impacted" clicks, we store only a one-way hash of the IP address, never the address itself.
- Spam protection. Forms are protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks browser and device signals to tell people apart from bots. Turnstile is governed by Cloudflare's privacy policy.
Cookies
The site uses cookies for Google Analytics and, where a form is protected, for Turnstile. We do not set advertising cookies today. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work.
Advertising
We do not currently display ads. If we do in future, ads may be served by Google AdSense and other third-party vendors, which may use cookies to show ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites. You can opt out of personalized advertising in your Google Ads Settings, or at aboutads.info/choices.
How we use information
To send the alerts and newsletter you asked for; to answer messages and correct the data; to measure and improve the site; and to keep it running securely. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it except with the service providers below, who process it only to deliver their service: Cloudflare (hosting, analytics, spam protection), Google (analytics, tag management, and advertising if enabled), and Resend (email delivery). Their privacy policies: Google, Cloudflare, Resend.
Your choices
Unsubscribe any time with the link in any email. Ask us to correct or delete your information (email address, messages) through the Contact page, and we will do it. We keep your email address while your subscription is active; when you unsubscribe we stop all mail, and we will delete the address if you ask.
Children's privacy
This site is a general-audience reference. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time; the date at the top will change. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
